Support for Professionals

Alongside my therapeutic work with individuals, I also provide specialist services for professionals, teams, and organisations working within health and care settings. My aim is to support the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) in developing a deeper, more holistic understanding of the people they work with, ensuring care and support remain truly person-centred.

My focus is always on building understanding, connection, and trust, supporting professionals and services provide care that not only meets practical needs but also honours the dignity, identity, and humanity of each individual.

Holistic Practice

Support Planning & Training

Support Planning & Training

I help professionals look beyond a diagnosis, presentation, or behaviour, supporting them to see and understand the whole person. By working holistically, I encourage teams to consider the individual’s history, environment, relationships, and strengths, which can often reveal important insights that are not captured in clinical reports or assessments. This approach helps to reduce stigma, improve engagement, and foster more meaningful therapeutic relationships.

Support Planning & Training

I work with health and care teams to co-create effective, person-centred support plans that are practical, realistic, and reflective of the individual’s needs and goals. Alongside this, I deliver training designed to deepen staff understanding and confidence in working with individuals who may present with complex needs. This includes exploring communication styles, behaviour as a form of expression, and ways to build trust and connection. The outcome is a team that feels more equipped, empowered, and aligned in their practice.

Complex Transitions

When Services Haven’t Connected

When Services Haven’t Connected

Transitions can be some of the most vulnerable and unsettling periods in a person’s life, particularly when moving from children’s to adult services. I support young people, their families, and services to navigate this often challenging process with care and sensitivity. My work focuses on ensuring continuity, minimising disruption, and strengthening collaboration between services so that the individual feels supported and held throughout the change, rather than abandoned or left to manage alone.

When Services Haven’t Connected

For some individuals, previous services or therapies may have felt inaccessible, unhelpful, or even alienating. I bring a fresh perspective in these situations, taking time to understand why engagement has been difficult and working to rebuild trust. By offering alternative approaches and reframing challenges, I support both the individual and the services around them to find new ways of connecting. This can be particularly valuable for those who have felt let down or overlooked by traditional systems of care.

Personal & Professional Insight

What sets my work apart is the combination of lived experience and professional knowledge. Having received services myself, and now delivering them, I bring a unique dual perspective that allows me to understand the challenges, barriers, and frustrations that can occur on both sides of the care relationship. This insight enables me to identify gaps in service delivery, anticipate potential difficulties, and offer solutions that are both practical and compassionate.

Over the years, I have frequently participated in multidisciplinary meetings involving multiple professionals, where complex cases are discussed in detail. In these settings, I have consistently been the professional who offers an alternative perspective. One that moves beyond reports, labels, or system-driven processes to focus on the individual as a whole person. This perspective often uncovers overlooked needs, strengthens collaborative decision-making, and enhances the quality of care planning.

My dual insight also allows me to act as a bridge between individuals and the services supporting them. By understanding both the professional frameworks and the lived realities of those receiving care, I can help teams develop approaches that are not only clinically effective but also human-centred, sustainable, and meaningful. This ensures that care is genuinely person-centred and responsive, leading to better engagement, improved outcomes, and more resilient service delivery.
